Ridgeway Modern
Two artists asked our office to create a new home for their family of three on an urban lot previously deemed unbuildable. A large easement cut through the property leaving a narrow slot of buildable land along the north edge of the property. Our design explored how we could celebrate the limitations of the site. The design led to a 1,000 sf, three bedroom, two bathroom home. Black metal siding and roof create a shell for the cedar clad rain screen that opens to the sod covered easement. The home creates a fresh modern oasis in this well established neighborhood.
